The story goes that one weekend in 1999, Tartan founder Hamish McAlpine watched Ringu and Audition and he was “totally blown away by them.” Soon after he came across Bangkok Dangerous and Nowhere to Hide which were also “outrageously shocking”.

Palisades Tartan UK has just signed a deal with Korea's CJ Entertainment to release Park Chan-Wook's highly anticipated vampire movie, "Thirst", in the UK. And hopefully, there will soon be news from the Palisades Tartan US front.

As Palisades tries to sort out licensing issues in its buyout of Tartan, "some titles seem to be slipping through the cracks". One, Takeshi Kitano's 'Blood and Bones', will now be coming out under Kino's banner on November 11.

The extras from Dragon Dynasty include lengthy interviews with each of the principal actors and a making-of featurette. "At the end of the making-of featurette; there's a neat song about filmmaking by one of the members of the crew."
